You’re invited! Join us for festivities at Burgess Park in Menlo Park.
The cities of Mountain View, Palo Alto, Menlo Park and Redwood City are teaming up to create a connected bikeway, and will host a kickoff event on Saturday, September 8th.
The Peninsula Bikeway is the brainchild of the Managers' Mobility Partnership, a collaborative effort between the four cities and Stanford with support from Joint Venture Silicon Valley to address transportation challenges in the region. As a first initiative, the group focused on building bike infrastructure to connect the cities and, eventually, the entire Peninsula region.
To kick off the project, The Partnership is hosting a launch event on Saturday, Sept. 8 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Burgess Park (701 Laurel St.) in Menlo Park to celebrate the opening of the interim bikeway and begin planning for a future, high quality permanent bikeway. Community bike rides will be organized from each city to the park where there will be food, music and information on how to become involved in the design for a permanent bike route. Elected representatives and staff from the cities will also be on hand to hear from the community. Information about a ride from Mountain View to the event will be released shortly. Please share with your networks and share broadly!
